Let the gracious hospitality of your hosts, Linda and Larry, make their home feel like your home away from home. Though not native Hermannites, the Miskels quickly became part of the strong fiber of Hermann. Both are from small towns and much prefer the quiet stability of small-town living.
Their love for Hermann and its people is contagious: they will help you find the total enjoyment of Hermann, from its history to its wineries, its eclectic shops, or simply relaxing on the patio watching the world go by.
America’s German Rhineland: wineries, a historic river town, and the Katy Trail. Highlights below mix the innkeepers’ own recommendations with guest favorites.
Stroll the historic district to the Arminius monument ("Germania’s Liberator"), then visit the Deutschheim State Historic Site, an 1840s German settler homestead museum.
The innkeepers’ top recommendation. Stone Hill Winery and Hermannhof Vineyards sit about a mile away; Adam Puchta & Son is a short drive into the countryside.
Missouri’s beloved rail-trail runs along the river; the trailhead is about 3 miles from the inn. Lock your bike in the inn’s garage overnight.
A quiet, reflective stop in town, recommended by Larry and Linda for an easy morning walk before breakfast.
Sugar Momma’s for sweets and Black Shire Distillery for spirits, both innkeeper picks. At the inn, German four-course dinners are available upon request.
Nine acres with patios, a hot tub, and abundant wildlife. Watch the sunset from the garden, or settle into a veranda rocker with coffee from 7 a.m.
